Our Packages

Our packages aim to identify the thinking and behaviour patterns of your team that inhibit their performance. This permits us to be clear on the gap between the teams’ aspirations and actions.

Testimonials

“We went as a team to On The Ball Team Building as part of our championship preparations. Most of our lads weren't sure what to expect going over there but every one of us left with a spring in our step and thinking differently about what we do. The speakers were excellent. Not just general talks, they clearly had their research done on us and each activity was tailored specifically to us. We definitely got a lot out of it, physically and mentally, and I would highly recommend it other teams or groups looking for that extra few percent”
Brendan Kealy Kilcummin GAA captain, former All Star, All Ireland winner goalkeeper and owner of Fuel4Change

“We took up one of On The Ball Team Building packages at the beginning of the season. it's not something we would have experienced before. We found it very good, really well organised and very professional. It really helped get our season underway..I would recommend it to any team if they are looking for something different”
David Clifford Annascaul GAA Senior Football Manager
“It ticked all the boxes for us. There were activities planned for the whole day and there was time for the lads to bond in the evenings also. What appealed to me was that there was more than just one event and a few drinks afterwards. This involved a number of events and was well structured. I would highly recommend this to any sports team, it is a great opportunity.”
Phil De Barra Gorey RFC Head Coach & Backs Coach with Leinster Woman's team

"The organisation of the day itself was first class. It was everything we had expected as we had a detailed plan of the day in advance. I would definitely recommended On the Ball Team Building to other clubs. It is a well worthwhile adventure.”
Kieran Fleming Kilcummin GAA Senior Football Manager

"We went as a team to On The Ball Team Building as part of integrating younger players with more seniors players into our 2020 panel. Most of our lads weren't sure what to expect going over there including myself with scepticism floating around but the scepticism quickly left on Saturday leaving every one of us left with a spring in our step and thinking differently about what we do. The speakers were excellent. Not just run of the mill talks, they clearly had their research done on us, our community and GAA talents, with the talks tailored specifically to us. We definitely got a lot out of it, and I would highly recommend it other teams or groups looking for that extra inch to get your team over the line. We will definitely be back again.”
John Paul Leahy - Manager of Ballyduff GAA

Culture Workshop
“Far more coaches fail to achieve success because they lack ability to develop team culture rather than lacking good direction or knowledge of the game.”

A team is “a unit with a task that no individual members can do alone” (Andrews, 2000). In a team environment, culture is an expression of values, attitudes and goals. It defines whether, for example, the team’s focus is on fun, improvement, winning or whether it promotes individual achievement or team success. A team culture is highly important as it directly influences many areas that affect teams’ functioning and performance.

Culture creates the norms of acceptable behaviours, either explicitly or implicitly. This conveys to participants what is allowed and what is not. Norms can guide team members on how they behave, communicate, cooperate, and deal with conflict. When there are explicit norms established, everyone on a team is more likely to adhere to them.

Here at On The Ball Team Building, our culture workshops aim to guide players through a journey of self-awareness and culture in a team. The creation of an open environment for teams is our core aim, where members will learn to connect deeper with personal experiences and experiences of the team as a whole. This will build awareness and resilience for them in meeting difficult challenges throughout the season both on and off the pitch.

Breathwork Workshop
To Enhance Recovery and Performance
Eoin Burns of BreathingCoach.ie is an Oxygen Advantage Trainer with over 10 years’ of experience working with individuals and teams to enhance their performance and recovery using breathwork. This is more than just some breathing technique; these principles underpin a healthier lifestyle.

This process works through calming the body, calming the mind and allow you restful sleep year-round. It will allow the quality of sleep to be greatly improved in advance of big matches. It will allow you to play in the zone, which is becoming increasingly difficult to find.

Eoin works with players to develop an understanding that with breathing, less is actually more. The more you breathe, the less oxygen gets delivered to your muscles and cells. This results in fatigue, stress and injury which can be prevented.

Eoins team sessions will involve a mix of short presentation with sitting exercises followed by a more active session in a gym or on the pitch. This will simulate game situations and how to out-recover your opponent as well as perform well under pressure. Sport is really tough if you are struggling to breathe! If you cannot breathe, you cannot do anything else much less fine motor control with split seconds to do it! When you are calmer, time stands still, and gives you that brief moment to instinctively do what you need to do. Deciding too much when under pressure means you get confused!

Eoin’s objective is to train people to have the same output (or higher) but at far lower heart rate and breathing rate so being in the zone brings that composure that allows you to play consistently at your very best.  His workshops will help to resolve breathing issues such as asthma, EIA, hay fever, runny nose (rhinitis), sinusitis and also the need to catch your breath due to second wind. If you suffer from one of these, you are breathing too heavily and working too hard! When you optimize your breathing then your sport will be more enjoyable, and you will perform consistently even under extra pressure.

Benefits of breathing correctly:
Improved performances
Work better under pressure – slow down your perception of time
Reduces and slows the build-up of lactic acid in muscles
Recover faster than your opponent – beat him / her to the next ball
Improved speed and stamina
Reduced breathing rate
Slower heart rate
Reduces anxiety
Increase blood circulation to vital organs
Increased concertation/mental focus
